An abundance of linen, with its heavy gathering and a soft, elasticated waist band combined with deep inset pockets, this skirt is comfortable, functional and the most beautiful silhouette. Crafted in Balmoral Check with Red Stripe, this soft, heavy weight linen is inspired by those beautiful looking tweed fabrics Scotland is known for.

Balmoral Check is a black and brown check linen with a red stripe running vertically, heavy weight, 100% preshrunk, European flax linen. Features of Skirt No.11 include:
- Heavily gathered linen skirt
- A fully elasticated soft waistband, stitched in place to stop elastic rolling
- Inset pockets

Skirt No.11 runs true to size. We recommend a visit to our size guide for help determining your size, if you are in between sizes, please size up.
Garment measurements when laid flat. (A variation of up to 1/2” is normal with our small batch made linen items.)
XS - Stretched waist 17”, un-stretched waist 13 ”, length 29”
S -Stretched waist 18”, un-stretched waist 14”, length 29.50”
M -Stretched waist 19", un-stretched waist 15”, length 30”

Our models are wearing size S, she is 5'8”, bust 36”, waist 28”, hips 39” and size XL, she is 5’7”, bust 43”, waist 37”, hips 46”.

All of our garments are designed, cut and skillfully crafted in small batches, here in Los Angeles, California. Our linen is woven and milled from 100% fine European Flax linen, at a centuries old linen mill in Europe. We care about our planet, we craft our garments sustainably in small batches and we send our linen scraps to a local textile recycling plant.

Gorgeous fabric

Pyne & Smith has a knack for picking out the most beautiful, well made fabrics. Balmoral Check is stunning! I love the weight, and the red accent brings so much visual interest. The cut of the skirt is flattering and of course it has functional pockets. I could wish it was 2-3 inches longer, but that’s just personal preference.

Skirt perfection

My favorite go to skirt this season. The linen is gorgeous beyond words. The colors are warm and rich and can be worn with a lot of different colors. I usually pair it with black tights, black moto boots and black tee's and sweaters - the skirt works with or without lots of layers, tucked in or out. I have also worn it with the P&S Blouse No.18 and a brown cardigan sweater or Fair Isle vest and any kind of jacket or coat works. I like to mix patterns so this skirt is perfect for that. I wear size XL and this skirt is flattering and comfortable. Another beautiful purchase from P&S. xoxo

The most beautiful linen ever!

I love my skirt! Yes, it is a LOT of fabric. And that's why I love it. It is not the sort of thing that I wear in order to look "slim." I wear it because it is so incredibly beautiful, makes me feel beautiful and it swings in the most luxurious way when I walk in it. For the record, I'm 5'6", not sure how much I weigh, but have a 28" waist and 38" hips. I got a size small and it fits without really stretching the waistband at all. It goes over my hips super easily when I put it on. I can't wait to wear it with big sweaters when it gets cold out.
